Another day closer
Yep. Another day closer to freedom! 18 1/2days left. Couldn't come too soon. Especially after hearing what our esteemed leader, aka supertindent, thinks of us nurses. Let's just hope he doesn't suffer a heart attack and his life depends on the expertise of one of his school nurses! Payback is a bitch! No, we all took that dang oath. Sigh. Anyway met my girlfriend for sushi to commiserate and she introduced me to a Grey Goose vodka dirty martini.Ahhh, I can face tomorrow. Bring it on kids!

First post
So, I'm new to this whole blogging thing but what the heck. Maybe this will turn in to something with which others can relate. Here I am with 20 days and counting until I am officially retired from a career as a school nurse. Whatever will I do to wean myself from daily lice checks. I hope I don't find myself in a line somewhere suddenly running my hands through the hair of the unlucky person immediately in front of me. Might be hard to explain to the security officer.
I have had someone tell me I will find myself with too much time on my hands. Whaaat? Me thinks not. I have lovely children and grandchildren to visit, paintings to paint, pictures to take with my nifty camera, jewelry to design and make, many books to read, much, much music to enjoy, movies to view and hopefully many, many trips to take. Now you may have noticed I didn't mention mountains to climb, marathons to run or gardening....yeah no. I accept my physical limitations and my dislike of playing in the dirt.
Well, I will sign off now and peruse the tv selection. Hey, don't judge, it is Saturday and come Monday I will be once again hunting down head lice.
